Hey Everyone!
Just a quick email because I moved! :) It's so crazy where I am.
So Elder Jarman was called to be a Zone Leader in Portsmouth which is really cool. And I've always wanted to get in the City of London and here I am! I'm in a place called Woolwich, which is in LONDON, major London. I don't feel like I'm in London, I feel like I'm in Africa, seriously. I think about 80% of the people here are black, its so cool and so different! Yesterday was so cool! We just traveled to my new area and unpacked. I'm living in a 4 man flat, its so weird living with more than just my companion, it's really fun and funny though. My companions name is Elder Pond from Nebraska, he's really cool, he's a bit quiet and reserved...like me, but we will grow together. So anyways yesterday, when it was working hours, I was just amazed about how wonderful these people are. Everyone here is from the western parts of Africa, they are wonderful people, so kind and loving, they are so open. Whenever they hear the word Jesus they are all ears, haha! I'm so pumped for this area! This area has 6 Elders, it was the highest baptising area in Europe! I'm so stoked, but...for the 2 elders that were here before me haven't had a baptism in 8 months.....so we will see if we can change that. Our ward I hear is also 80% black, elders told me not to get "Jungle fever"...I don't know what that means, but they say I will find out later. So its going to be interesting! I cant be racist anymore ;) As I have mentioned in many other emails about the Book of Mormon Musical, I am right next to the musical, and there are signs everywhere about the Book of Mormon! It's so funny! People are ALWAYS staring at us, especially when we wear white shirts and ties holding a Book of Mormon. Like yesterday. I've seen so many signs, its so fun! I haven't seen any of the Mormon.org advertisements yet, but hopefully I will soon! Our bishop here has pictures of him on the Mormon.org signs, and pass a long cards, so that's pretty cool too. It's a small world.
So that's the update from me! I'm excited to be here, it feels good to be in a new area, especially when we have 2 other elders in the same flat, it makes me feel more like I'm on a team, its great. About Redhill, as I've said Jarman and I left...when 2 elders leave an area together its called a "Whitewash" So 2 other missionaries are taking over Redhill, not because we weren't successful, because we were having great success, President Millar just has been whitewashing a lot of areas for some reason. He whitewashed an area that had 2 baptismal dates. Everyone is a little confused, but he holds the keys so I guess he knows what he's doing.
I sure love and miss all of you! Hope all is well!
cheers!
PS: I'm going to have to learn so many greetings in so many different languages...
